good morning bloggies.
today the specials are:
-mushrooms and feta omelette
-chili corn and rice soup
-the muffins are: spelt banana chocolate chip, peach, banana flax, and carrot apple walnut
every time i complain today i have to put 25 cents in a jar. hopefully i won't be broke by the end of the day...
doug only has one more sleep and then he is on vacation! very exciting.. well, for him anyway.

The specials today are:
Olive, red onion, sundried tomato and feta scramble
Chili corn rice soup
Organic spelt banana chocolate muffins
Organic chocolate chip or Neiman Marcus cookies.
Whenever I want to write or say Neiman Marcus cookies I always almost say Norman Mailer cookies. Which would have to be quite a different thing. Norman Mailer cookies would be, perhaps, cookies designed to look like Norman Mailer. Portrait cookies. Which would be a fun kind of cookie to have as well. Maybe when Vicki opens her own bakery.

i wrote a poem. here it is:
doug is fab,
and rather rad,
some would say he's quite the lad.
he's always at the mercury,
when he should be right here with me.
but it's ok,
he's here today,
but we still love doug every day!
here are the specials:
-cauliflour and cheddar omelette
-curried sweet potato soup
-croque madame/monsier sandwich
and.. pumpkin millet muffins
have a good weekend everyone!

we got cam running the floor, jacki running the kitchen, james running the prep, and again me, just killing time (and starting to feel as though i'm no longer needed here at this establishment).

oh well... at least the mercury still needs me.

and speaking of teams (which i was way back in line 2), GLORY F/C plays our first football (soccer) game of the season tomorrow night. i'm sure we're going to get a serious arse kicking but keep your fingers crossed that none of us breaks anything.

today is a very special day! on behalf of everyone here at MG i would like to wish james a very happy 20th birthday! me thinks we may be seeing him later this morning for a birthday breakfast. as for your breakfast today we have:

-some delicious organic muffins (we aren't exactly sure what kind they are.. but they look just lovely)
-the croque monsieur and madame
-tomato and white bean florentine soup

well, i'm standing around here doing what i do best... procrastinating.
and i'm getting quite good at this, if i do say so myself.
the trick to being a good procrastinator is creating the illusion of doing work with out actually doing any... like me doing the blog... sure it appears that i'm doing something integral to the running of this place... but come on now... really... any moron with two fingers (one in a pinch) and a basic grasp of the english language could have had this done in half the time. but not me. see, i create the illusion of labouring over each word i type. but really i'm just dragging things out.

james tells me that waylon blogged already.

In Morning Glory news today, we are having a Stephin Merritt day; Stephin Merritt music all day long. That is one of my favourite kinds of days.
The specials today are:
Baby spinach and feta omelette
Sweet potato and curried rice soup
A sandwich special - bacon, avocado and havarti with aioli on toasted ciabatta for six dollars
Organic spelt-banana-chocolate muffins
Organic chocolate chip cookies and one brownie
Surely by now everyone has heard about the new Apple iphone, this fantastic new device that fits in your hand and is a telephone, blackberry, ipod, camera, and time machine all at once. It is so baffling to wonder what they will think of next.
Another big item in the news today is yesterday's signing by David Beckham to a five-year, $250 million contract with the Los Angeles MLS team. Interestingly enough, Beckham has also just signed a one-year renewable contract with Glory F.C., the Morning Glory-affiliated loca team that starts playing on the 26th of this month at the Docks, for twenty-five dollars and two bacon sandwiches. We expect that he will be a valuable addition. You are very much invited to come check out the games, which will be Friday evenings starting on the 26th.

It is so hard to believe that you are working again. For those of you who have been wondering, hurt or complaining, the reason for our lapse in blogging has not been laziness or disinterest; rather, the Blog was not working for a good long time. I hope we have not lost our readership.

Last night someone told me that he would be starting a new job in September, and I said, confused, "but it is September." And I was very serious. So much that he started to get confused and think himself that it was September. It felt very much like September in my head last night.
The blog is very weird now; it is aligning everything that I type in a very weird way and also the font looks different than it used to, and I wonder what this will look like when I post it...
Jacki says that when the year changed to 2007 ten days ago, she became convinced that 2007 had already happened and was certain that she had been writing the date with the year 2007 for a year already.

Waylon is trying hard not check out a hot blonde girl at table seven, he's subtle though.
