cheers.

Oh hello... I will try to post a blog today even though it will almost surely not show up, like it has not shown up since Thursday. I wonder what is wrong with it. I wonder who can fix it.

The specials today are:
Sweet potato and goat cheese omelette
Mango pickle soup
Organic muffins: spelt banana flax and cranberry millet

What should I say today in this blog that will not be read? Maybe I should say something in code. Um see eat omlet act we ole elvs eon. There it is. It didn't work too well but at least most of the words individually make sense. I will have to work on my cryptography. I think there is a future in that skill because look at all the espionage-related recent news. So. Next blog I will have a better code. With a more interesting message. Oh dear it is 10:59; I better post this quickly.

oh, hello! i didn't hear you come in..

the specials for monday december 11th are:

• spelt banana flax muffins
• morning glory muffins
• sweet potato & white chocolate muffins
• butternut squash & goat cheese omelette
• red curry thai soup
• plenty of organic brownies, butter tarts, choco-chip cookies

..wow, makes you wonder why it's ever soo quiet eh?
jacki's wonderful winter joke of the day:
(Q): what did the snowman say to the kid?

(A): "smells like carrots in here."

aaah HAHAHAA! now if you have any important holiday parties coming up, you can amuse all of your friends with one amusing joke, if they ask you for another joke, then you better think of another one yourtself..

The blog is having so much trouble today with posting what I wrote. I will try to post it again here:

Hello. Sorry to keep you waiting. Busy morning I suppose. Working working working.

The specials today are:
Baby bok choy and cheddar omelette
Potato rosemary soup
Organic banana chocolate-chip muffins
Organic chocolate-chip cookies
Organic butter tarts
And later a roast beef sandwich special

We are listening to a Joni Mitchell Hits cd and I wonder if the hits are chronological because there is this song at the end that sounds like it could only possibly have come from the late 80s or early 90s... those chronological greatest hits albums are always funny, the way they so often tend to deteriorate at the end when they include the twenty-years later hits.
I have to go now, the blog is taking too long.

Otis is playing on the stereo, Jacki's in the kitchen, Vicki's at the oven and Cam's doing dishes. It's otherwise quiet here at Morning Glory. Doug and I have shaved and worn our nice shirts because we have an interview with CBC television about the Mercury Espresso Bar and Leslieville. Very exciting.

The omelette today is baby spinach(yes, it's back) with a blend of cheddar and gouda cheese.

The muffins are chocolate & beet, spelt banana, and the famous pumpkin millet.

The soup is potato rosemary.

So far it's been baby day at MG. Kurt, stopped by with his folks along with Tilly from down the lane (Corktown born and bred, yo!). My baby sister's been hanging out all morning too, waiting for a lift to work.

Dear Blog,
In news relating to the restaurant, I don't think it has been mentioned that the Mercury and Vicki's baking were featured in the Star on Saturday. What a nice article it was. There was a picture of a pumpkin millet muffin, and it was a nice picture too. Today we have pumpkin millet muffins. I think it is good to give pumpkins the attention they deserve all year long. Vicki is very good at evenly distributing attention to pumpkins throughout the year.

The specials today are:
Mixed herb, brie and truffle oil omelette
Butternut squash soup
Three kinds of organic muffins:
-spelt banana flax
-cranberry orange
-pumpkin millet

I feel so estranged from the blog; I do not ever ever blog because I do not ever ever work because I only ever do school work. All the time. I feel estranged even from my life. When my life and I come together again, sometime within the week, I will celebrate so much. Also because it will be the holiday season, which is a very good time for celebrations.

well i guess it's official, winters here... and so begins my season of complaining about the bloody cold, and the bloody snow, and the bloody everything else that comes along with this god forsaken season. so be prepared and don't say i didn't give you ample warning.

and to all you people out there who proclaim to love the winter time... i'm not buying it... you're all suspect. with your skiing, your tobogganing, your trudging through the snow. ha.

suspect i tell you.

here are the specials :

buttery buttery butternut squash soup
applely applely apple and cinnamon pancakes
sunny sunny sundried tomato and gouda scramble
and
chocolately chocolately chocolate chip and mango muffins

mmmmmmmmmmmm. the weather may suck but the food you eat doesn't have to. so throw on the bulkiest, most movement restrictive clothing you have, and waddle your little "cold loving" arse down here so james can make you something delicious.

...and maybe if you're lucky, i'll still be here and you'll get to actually hear me complain in person... because i know how much everyone loves to listen to someone complaining... Especially about the weather.

cheers.
