Good morning. My apologies for the lateness of the blog but I mistakenly thought the blogging duty had been taken from me this morning. Fortunately not, since I have all sorts of exciting things to say.
Please don't forget that we are closed this weekend for the holiday. We will be closed Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Specials today are:
Fresh chive and cheddar scramble (that is today's omelette)
Soup that is yet to be made but should be ready for lunch
Today's muffins are all gone; however if you come in for a coffee we will give you a surprise treat while they last.
Yesterday I went to Niagara Falls and Buffalo for the day, which was really quite a lot of fun if only for the novelty factor... Niagara Falls may be one of the fastest growing cities in Ontario; I don't know if that is true but it seems like every few minutes a new hotel, restaurant, ferris wheel, theme park or casino is being built, and everything is very large and colourful and dramatic looking, and it all has the effect of making you feel like you are walking/driving through a sort of city-size Canada's Wonderland. My favourite parts of the trip were when I went to Value Village, because out-of-Toronto thrift stores are like goldmines, and when I saw the guy walking down the street wearing the "Property of Jesus" t-shirt.

Hello Monday
The lovely specials today included many organic goodies so hold onto your hats while I list them off...:
Feta and basil omelette
Organic raspberry and granola muffins
Chilled cucumber and dill soup
Organic brownies
Organic chocolate chip cookie (no plural...there is only one left)
Organic lemon poppy seed loaf
AND
Organic Caribbean carrot cake
Whee....nice stuff to come in and eat so please come in and eat it.
I won't 'prattle' on too much (thank James) but only to say that I had a nice weekend consisting of bike rides, breakfast, a blue jays game, and a burn (a nasty sun burn). Hope all is well and I'd like to give a shout out to my best friend Emily who is a faithful reader of my blog...perhaps the only reader. HI EM!!!! You're GREAT!
Have a happy day.
salutations,
scooter.

In Morning Glory news... we are all breathing a sigh of relief that Kelly is back from her travels in Europe. It was tough getting by without her of course, most of all emotionally, but luckily things are now returning to normal.
Today the specials are:
Guacomole and cheddar omelette
Chilled melon and fresh mint soup
and two kinds of organic muffins - banana-bran and blueberry-mango
The province of Ontario is introducing a new logo. I guess it is supposed to be a "modern" looking trillium, you know, like a trillium for the 21st century. Something the kids will think is neat. But it looks pretty dumb. New modern looking logos almost always look pretty dumb, I think. Like when the Blue Jays introduced a new logo. Maybe instead they should go back to old logos. Dig up old original ones. You can look at the new logo in the Toronto Star today.

Hi there,
Sorry for the tardiness but we had some problems this morning with Blogger. I don't have time to prattle on about apartment hunting or window fans so I'll give you a quick update on events around here. First Germany are through to the next round of the world cup and play Sweden on Saturday. I shall be burning eggs and slicing my fingers off all morning. Do be sure to eat at Golden Griddle. Vicki is now with us full time as a baker, she just got her brand new convection oven wired in this morning and we've been awash in organic muffins and cookies. Trish will occasionally be coming on Saturdays to bake her awesome brownies and rosemary loaves. We continue to pity Doug for being an England fan, good luck to them against Ecuador.
Croque monsieur (toasted ham and gruyere cheese with dijon mustard)
Mushroom and cheddar cheese omelet
Gazpacho soup
sorry the muffins are all gone (I know, I said we were "awash" in them but that was artistic licence)
This afternoon I will be hitting the books. Max has given me homework. I am to look at passages in the King James bible and Luther's translation and try figure out my name in German. I will make time to read Lori Delorme's article on dog fashions in today's copy of 24. What with cable and internet it's important to sit down and read the paper and take time to actually absorb what's going on out there. I'm really hoping she used the word "trepidation" as in: "it was with some trepidation that they tied the sequined cape around Fifi's neck"
Well look at that. I did prattle on.

THE SEARCH IS OFF! Get back to your lives everyone...Steven and I have found an apartment!
I can hear sighs of relief all over the city. Now all you have to do is help us move...just joking. I'm hilarious. But really...we're moving on the long weekend so just let us know...
SPECIALS!
Raspberry and almond muffins
Cold sweet potato and rosemary soup
Leek and cheddar omelette
Organic (!) chocolate chip cookies
I had an absolutely lovely weekend with my parents at their new house just outside of Kingston (on Stagecoach Road as a matter of fact) and it has a gazebo which I find very exciting. It's like a little cottage in England. As you may have gathered, it is QUIET...really really quiet. And a little over the top in terms of 'nature'...with the garden turtle my mum has named "herman" and the chipmunk family that lives under the shed and the endless number of birds frolicking about in the garden...the juxtaposition to my apartment in downtown Toronto was almost a bit much. But man oh man, was I relaxed. Unfortunately that sense of relaxation was quickly eradicated as I walked out of the train station into a terrible traffic jam in front of Union Station and of course, the noise and ruckus of the "MMVA's" didn't help...we currently live rather close the 'environment' (a little too close for my liking). This weekend I was on about my dad's newly (ish) found curmudgeonly ways...I think it's rubbing off on me and I'm still young!!!!!
oh dear.
Happy Monday.

Another late blog, I must appologize. I was just busy trying to sort out the translation of the name James into german with Herr Professor Max. (Max is german, although I may doubt that after hearing his picks for the world cup) He found a discrepancy in Luther's translation of the bible, where one of the James' is translated as Jacobus and the other becomes Johannes. We are going to wade into copies of Luther's and King James' editions next week and try and sort this out.
In other important MG news. Looks like we will be adding a baker to our team. I think were are becoming the beatles of breakfast, at least in my head. Of course that begs the question, who's Ringo?
Cameron is hung-over and had to get off the streetcar early on his way here, so he could puke. He was a bit late for work.
We have a TV for the world cup and so far it has only proved to be a minor distraction, a few burnt omelets and we ran out of bacon at one point. Thank God for Sysco, our new rep is awesome(our old rep was good too)
Hey Annie just walked in...
the specials
fresh herb and cheddar omelete
Doug's gazpacho soup
spiced date and walnut muffins
oh! the England and T&T game is starting

Good morning folks,
ALERT! ALERT! Some idiot stole our blue bin...and I personally (and James too) get VERY annoyed by people who do things like that. It's a blue bin for God's sake...it's meant to do good things for society and yet people still feel motivated to steal such things...it's confounding and perplexing. In other words, please return it and all will be well and then James won't have to call the city, pay for a new one, and wait a month for it to arrive. We're just trying to do our part.
Speaking of James, our one and only James the "hurricane" is cooking for us and will whip up
a Cheddar cheese and guacamole omelette
or
some gazpacho
or
a mango-chocolate chip muffins
or
a giants cookie (which are hanging in a basket)
or
a brownie
for you.
Thus far this morning, we have sold two muffins and one omelette. For those concerned about my apartment hunt (i.e. me and Steven) we STILL haven't solidified anything as of yet but we did find a nice spot in the Annex so we're keeping our fingers crossed. We had an awkward encounter with a rather strange girl at these apartments on Richmond which were not only dodgy places (they smelled funny plus we saw some crazy dude walking around the building with his shirt off who was mumbling to himself) but I swear, even if the building was amazing, the sales girl was so bizarre we would have walked out anyway. Other than that, I went to a few North by Northeast shows including Spiral Beach who are very young but man, they put on a pretty rad show. I also got drunk with Steven's co-workers which was funny mainly because he stayed sober to witness the ridiculousness. So big ups Paquin. And on that note, have a good Monday. I am closing this blog down as I have the propensity to get a little carried away with my mundane musings. WAIT! We went to Woofstock and saw WAY too many cute pooches including an Old English Sheepdog called Boomer.
All the best,
Emmeline Scootertron.

Howdy folks,
Today we have...
* banana pecan muffins...we have seven left because three people have purchased three muffins thus far.
* gazpacho (note: this was a challenge in terms of my food spelling inabilities...we had to look it up).
* baby spinach and cheddar cheese omelette
* brownies and rosemary lemon cake
Doug and I are also very special so you can come in to see us to if you wish.
I am in the middle of apartment hunting and I must say, I hate it. It's a lot of leg work all over the city and as Steven makes me call for the most part (he believes that landlords like girls better) I have had countless numbers of awkward conversations with the crazy people who rent spaces in this city. Really, I need them to say "yes, we have laundry" and "no, it's not a basement" and "when would you like to see it?". It never seems to be that simple and I end up stuck in uncomfortable conversations which deter me from even wanting to see the apartment. ViewIt has spoiled me because now I feel weird if I haven't seen pictures of the place. It is true however that the apartments never look like their pictures anyway! So if you have a two bedroom/one bedroom with office, with laundry, and something in decent shape in the west end (but not too far west) for July 1st, let me know. Otherwise, we'll keep on mucking through the random housing market in this city....
That's enough ranting for today. Doug made me lovely granola with bananas and raspberries and hot soy milk this morning...JESUS! That was good. Hope you had a good weekend.
