Good morning.
Today we have the Croque Monsieur for $5. That's a ham, gruyere and dijon sandwich, grilled on our sesame loaf.
We also have the M.G. Western. M.G. stands for Morning Glory. That's a ham, mushroom, red onion omelette on a toasted ciabatta bun with lettuce, ketchup and aioli.
Omelette is mushroom and cheddar.
Soup is fresh sage and vegetable.
Two more banana muffins are left.
We are closed next weekend, friends. Not this weekend, but next - Thanksgiving weekend, that is. On the Saturday and Sunday. I will be staying home this weekend in anticipation of the Maximum Weekend to come. Not only am I not working, I am also throwing a party, going dancing, going to some concerts, and if weather permits, having a picnic.
The computer is downstairs now. No time for chit-chat. I've got to return to my job.

Actually Kelly, we will be open on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend and closed on the Sunday and Monday.

If our downstairs kitchen here at Morning Glory is Tokyo, then Doug is Godzilla. Upstairs hurricane Rita has been knocking down our sandwich board and blowing of our open signs. It's very quite this morning so perhaps our customers have been blown away too. Doug and I are both feeling a little under the weather, so it's going to be one of those days.
The muffins today are toasted almond and chocolate chip, the soup is rosemary and bean puree, the omelet is sauteed spinach and cheddar cheese. We have a toasted MG western, which I recommend on a cold blustery day like this.
Kristan is in Saskatchewan at a wedding so Dana from upstairs is helping out today.

Kristan, I believe I speak for everyone when I write: ?????????????????????????!
The omelet today is pear and brie
The muffins are mixed berry
The soup is sweet potato
We have the MG western on the go as well today.
Yesterday was my nephew Daniel's 1st birthday. His parents threw a party for him and like a true Feistner-Lee he got stuck right into his victorian sponge cake face first and with both hands. Well done my boy, you make us all proud! No, really we are quite proud of that kind of gusto.
Its Oktoberfest at the Mill Street Brewery next Monday night, tickets are only $10 bucks. Doug and I shall both be there, but only one of us has to work the next morning.

I could have sworn it was Monday morning last night. I wasn't feeling very well so my loving boyfriend offered to go get me pre packaged veggies and dip along with roasting potatos from the Dominion. When he returned, he appologized and said that they were out of the pre packaged veggies but he bought me some broccoli and cauliflour with sauce instead. It would have been fine except he bought cooked vegetable sauce, I didn't mention it. I then pulled the potatos out of their bag to get them ready and they were all green! Fine. Then I spilled my juice with a fury all over the table, wall, chair and floor, I have a tendancy. I then blurted out that I didn't think I could stomach the cooked veggie sauce because it smelled gross and I didn't want cooked veggies. So, this time I went to the 711 to get the first crappy dip I could find. On the way back I had the sinking sensation that my well meaning boyfriend had cooked the vegetables. I walk in, and he confessed that he had indeed steamed the broccoli. That was okay though, there was some raw stuff left. I opened the dip and the protective seal was ripped! So, my boyfriend then went to the other corner store to get dip this time. He came back with an expired batch. Fuck. I would have been happy to eat plain cooked veggies but not without butter, which we didn't have. After all that I succumbed to an already cooked batch of instant mashed potatos, that's where the butter went, with BBQ sauce. All in all a delectable meal and relaxing evening. You'll get much better hassle free food here.
Bacon, brie and caramelized onion sandwich $5
The MG Western or Eastern Cowboy sandwich $5

Three things this morning, all unrelated.
1) I was rubbed and bumped by too many bums on the street car this morning.
2) America's Next Top Model is really an awesome show for a Wednesday night.
3) It must be a sad existance to be a black cat. Atleast if you're a black sheep you're dangerous and misunderstood so you would probably get all the lady sheep. If you're a black cat no one pays any atention to you and walks as far away from you as possible in fear of being struck with bad luck. What a lonely life.

Hey Kristan, what have you been up to lately? Well guys, I have been knee deep in fur and hat making. Don't worry, it's used fur. I had been looking for ripped fur coats to make hats out of, because I'm not to into fur myself but if I can recycle something that is going to get thown out I will, and this woman came into a store I work at one day and needed to get rid of ripped fur that no one else wanted. The coats were her adoptive grandmothers and she couldn't throw them out for sentimental reasons, and I thought it couldn't be more perfect.
So I'm taking the coat apart, amazed by the craftsmanship, and I start to find these crumbs or seeds embedded in the right hand sleeve. I got excited. I start to imagining, maybe this woman was an avid peanut eater and would buy great bins of peanuts to dive her hand into as if she was in the olympics OR maybe her husband shunned her peanut eating telling her it would make her fat so she hid peanuts in the lining of her sleeve sneaking them out in movie theatres, in restaurant washrooms, or on late night fall and winter walks where the crunching was masked by the snow and leaves under her feet. It's nice to near a mysterious peice of history, that's all.
Plum Pancakes $5
Spinach and Cheddar Omelette
Mixed Berry Muffins
Potato Leek Soup
The Morning Glory Western $5
Spiced Pear Cake $3.50
Plum Oat or Pear Oat Squares $2.50
If anyone has any reasoning for the mysterious crumbs please fell free to share.

Oh my goodness! I was not aware that Kelly was a witness to that fiasco. If you need the precedence please refer to Kelly's Friday Blog. Well, Kelly, I was not actually trying to steal the painting I just thought it would be funny to take it down from the wall. After that action I immediatly felt a grab at my arm. Drunk as I was, I ran away from the mysterious hand and sat across the bar. Trying to hide in a gold sequined skirt is quite a task, needless to say I was found and I bounded again to the other side of the bar or maybe back to the scene of the crime. I was accosted for the final time and asked to leave. My friend Chris and I were escorted downstairs by SECURITY to get our stashed away belongings and finally out of the bar. It was really funny. The night was not ruined though, it was 3am after all. We did sing Kareoke downstairs. Our rendition of Beautiful by "Xtina" got applauds and we got invited back to some girl's home for a threesome which would have worked out if Chris wasn't gay and if I was single and if we had wanted to. All in all another crazy night in the books.

Today's specials...
Broccoli and cheddar omelette, banana muffins, chipotle black bean soup, and the M.G. Western (for those of you who don't know, that's a red onion-mushroom-ham omelette on a toasted ciabatta bun with lettuce, ketchup and aioli).
For those of you who were distressed by my absence, I'm back now. Here I am. I went on many adventures, such as going to Halifax and then starting school this week. (Not starting it from the beginning, just starting this particular year of school). My vacation was pretty fun, but I have to admit I did miss this place. Mostly the food, but also James and Doug and Kristan. And I guess that I will probably have to keep missing Kristan forever, since we never really have days when we work together anymore. I do have a very good last memory of her though, in which she is trying to liberate a certain wall hanging.
This blog is taking me forever to write, so I better just hurry up and post it before the day is over even though I am not really very happy with it. Two weeks off leaves you very rusty at things like this.
Bye,
Kelly
P.S. My mom found my circa 1961 Barbie's Cookbook so maybe soon we will be featuring specials from that.

I'd like to start tthe day off with a big shout out to B the V or Bob the Vegan. We haven't heard from him in a while. He's in
Asia somewhere and that's a preetty big place to be somewhere in. I'm purposly not correcting my spellin gmistakes this morning which usyally makes James sigh with disgust but they made Bob pee his pnats laughing, he really got a kick out of my mediocraty. I make alot of spelling mistakes. I couls blame it on, let's be honest I can't blame it on anything. I'm a nervous typer. I get excited. Well I guess I'm making excuses for myself now, aren't I. Here's a little gamw Bob and I used to play: It's called let's bug Bob because he has principles and morals. Here's howit went: I would think of a smany ridiculous questions as I could to ask him regarding Veganism. Questions like, "If you are at an art gallery and the paintings were painted with horse hair brushes could you look at the paintngs? Let's see if I can come up with a new on today. Okay Bob . . . If you're teaching a kid (he's teaching english somewhere in Asia which is a big place to be somewhere in) and that kid pet a dog earlier in the day and the fur was on his/her hand and he/she gives you an aplle (as students often do in fiction over here in the west) with that hand and there's no water in sight to wash it with, would you eat the apple? That's just a
little piece of home while you're far away Bob. We miss you and hope you're having a blast. James is typing out the specials today so that's why th espelling and grammar will clean up.

The sandwhich special is rare roast beef on a toasted chiabatta bun with sliced pear and a dollop of chilled blue cheese and roasted horseradish gravy

Seeing as the first thing I did this morning was ACCIDENTALLY smach a large jar of blueberries in syrup on the floor in the pantry, I have decided to participate in a past blog conversation to forget the present incident. We're all into nostalgia these days any way.
MY FIRST RECIPE
by
Kristan L. Klimczak
I would have to say that my very fist ever recipe was mud pie. Mud pies are not edible at all but you can make a lot of imaginary profit from them. My second recipe was edible, however. I had progressed. This delicacy wasn't for every one though. Only the truly elite four year olds had developed a palate for the Essex of Play Dough. Play Dough ranked high in the sodium and imagination departments but it wasn't quite as lucrative as the pies. My third recipe was both lucrative and tasty and the simplest of the three. Lemonade. The problem with lemonade stands, for me, was that there was an extreme amount of guilt attached to them. I could never get over the fact that my mother had bought the lemonade, did most of the work preparing it, but I was the one profiting from it.
After these three recipes I never attempted baking or mixing until much later in my twelfth year and then I gave it up forever except for the occasional Pillsbury endeavors.
THE END
Mediterranean omelet ( Roasted red peppers, olives, capers, onions, artichoke hearts, tomatoes and feta)
Roasted red pepper and portabello mushroom sandwich $5
The Morning Glory Western $5
Mixed Berry muffins
Roasted red pepper and bean soup
I think that's it. I won't be cooking any of these up for any of you.

Oh my. Right now I feel as though I stayed up drinking all night until 4 am, slept for two hours, and got up and came to work still drunk. That is not what really happened; I just feel that way. This is the worst fake hangover I have ever had. I don't know what's wrong with me. I moved yesterday and apparently that is the same for your body as drinking all night and sleeping for two hours. I don't know why. I guess it's not going to be a good day for me. I will apologize now for doing things like walking into the back of your chair, pouring coffee in your tea cup, and tripping over my own feet while carrying your food to your table so that you have to wait for James or Doug to make it again. Sorry.
Oh yeah I almost forgot to tell you about the specials. Sometimes I think that the point of the blog is to tell you all about me but really it is to tell you the daily specials.
Omelette is tomato, red onion and cheddar.
Soup is curried butternut squash.
Sausage-bean goulash - four dollars for a bowl.
M.G. Western (red onion-mushroom-ham omelette on a toasted ciabatta with lettuce, aioli and ketchup) - five dollars.
Croque Monsieur (gruyere, ham, dijon and lovin' in a grilled sandwich) - five dollars.
And zucchini-nut muffins.
The ingredients of the above specials may vary depending on who makes it, because Doug is still learning the way.
Bye,
Kelly

Early blog this morning. If any one knows about anything fun to do in Regina give us an email or just tell me when you come in. I have to go to a wedding there at the end of the month. I know there's a casino, but I don't want to get started, or I'll be wearing Depends at the slot machines by the end of the week and I'll never come back. Speaking of money I watched Bonnie and Clyde this week and I really think I should have been born before finger printing and security cameras. Crime back then seems so romantic to me. I could have been a bonnified bank robber. I didn't see the end of the movie though, I fell asleep, which seem to be the theme with my movie watching lately. Is it just me or is this blogg meandering. Early blog this morning.
