Kelly,
There has been no change with Project Gilead. The pressure seems to have at first increased to the point where we may have seen an explosion but it has since receded. Kristan poked it with cutlery. We are continuing our observations today. We will keep you posted.

Perpetually late as I am, I had to run from just north of Queen and Gladstone to just west of King and Shaw this morning. I practically missed the street car but I guess my almost tearful contorted face instilled compassion in the driver. I ran in boots and now I have a blister. I guess that's Monday for you. It's funny, even though I work Saturday and Sunday, Monday is still Monday. Goodmorning Goodmorning.

Monday's classic that makes Monday a bit easier to take: Bacon Brie and Caramelized Onion on a Ciabatta Bun $5

Sauteed green onion and smoked cheddar omelette

Pecan and prune muffins

Sausage patty on a bun $5

Curried nutterbut squash and sweet apple soup.

My first recipe was for making tea. My mum had me trained by the age of four, I believe.

My next recipe was scrambled eggs with finely minced salami. Smelt like crap and stunk up the whole house. I think Martina still hates me for it.

james

Mixed herb and cheddar omelette.
Banana muffins.
Leak and potato soup (hot).
Chicken curry club, six dollars.

Ice cream floats. That is not a special, just a subject of conversation. My new roommate and I used to be best friends when from when we were about six until about nine. She had this really great children's cookbook called My First Cookbook or something like that, and I also had some really great children's cookbooks, which were the circa 1991 version of Barbie's Cookbook and also the c. 1960 version of Barbie's cookbook, which used to be my mom's. And one of our favourite recipes was ice cream floats.

Morning folks.

Have other people been noticing how strange the world has been for the last little while? Say, three or four weeks? I started to notice about a month ago when everything in my own life started to be weird. Like receiving gift bags from strangers at bus stops; the arrival of strange and unexpected surprises in the mail; running into record numbers of elusive people from my past; falling out of bed. And almost as soon as my life started to be weird, I started to observe a weirdness in the rest of the world as well. Now I know that talking about the weirdness of plane crashes kind of makes me sound like one of those people who thinks that movies like The Day After Tomorrow or Independence Day might actually come true, but seriously three plane crashes within about two weeks of each other is a little bit weird. A guy getting washed away in the river. Generally weird weather. And just a general weird feeling in the air. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you are probably just not as spiritually in tune as I am. Oh, also, the other day as I was walking home, the sky was very dark and eerie looking, and suddenly a black cat LEAPT out of the bushes right across my path, and then I looked down and this big wormy creature came up out of the ground right in front of me, and then back into the ground. It looked like a horror movie. Well, without my saying anything the other day a friend asked me if I had noticed the general weirdness in the world. And he said that Mercury is in Retrograde, and that is why the world is weird. I don't want to make this blog any longer than it already is. But if you have noticed this weirdness, look up Mercury Retrograde. Very interesting.

The specials today are a pesto omelette and cantaloupe-mint soup. I'm sorry but the mixed berry muffins are already sold out. Don't worry even if my blog had been shorter you still would have missed them.

Doug has been hounding me to mention his first ever muffins that have turned out rather nicely. I wish the same could be said about his over easy eggs. If you want over broken you've come to the right place. Don't worry Doug's cooked before, for 14 years he cooked - just not breaky (breakfast for the non colloquial). I think each day we should have a little section for Doug's firsts. Maybe a picture wall. To make him feel especially patronized and especially special at the same time.

Blue Tuesday:
Blueberry pancakes $5
Blueberry muffins (did I mention they are Doug's first.)
Zuccini, fresh chive and parmasean omelette
Farmer's market mixed herb sausage patty $2.50
Chilled cantaloupe and mint soup.

See ya

Last night for dinner I had Instant mashed potatos, which had been sitting in the cupboard for a year or two, opened, with KFC gravy and two large sour keys from the 711. Thankyou hangover. I bet you could probably get better grub here.

Monday's classic bacon, brie and caramelized onion on a ciabatta bun $5

Arugula and cheddar omelette

Chocolate chip and toasted almond muffins

Side of pork and mixed herb sausage patty $2.50

Chilled cantaloupe and mint soup

I think that's it.
See ya

Spinach and cheddar omelette.
Banana muffins.
Tomato and fresh basil soup.
And banana red currant cake.

If Morning Glory held a contest, and the prize for the contest was a Morning Glory badge (the fabric kind that you can sew on your clothes, bag, etc), would you try hard to win that contest?

I forgot to tell you about one of our specials today: the M.G. Western, which is a Morning Glory western omelette (ham, red onion and mushroom) on a toasted ciabatta bun.

So I tracked down the time travel story. I asked around until I found the person that had told me, and I got her to tell me again. Apparently it has been proven in physics (physically?) that it is not possible to travel back in time, but it is possible to travel forward in time, in the following way: moving forward at a speed slower than the speed of the rest of the world. So that when you emerge from your time traveling, you are forward in time from when you started, but behind the rest of the world.... well, the world that you were in when you began your time travel anyways... weird, huh? But, interesting and mind-bending as it is, I think it's an awfully disappointing discovery. Who wants to travel forward in time?

My other story today: I have this new friend, who became my friend when we started talking and found out that we grew up on streets right beside each other. Then, on Friday, I told him about my new apartment, and it turns out that once again we live on streets beside each other. And THEN - we found out that when we were very little, the houses that we first lived on were also on streets next to each other. AND - all three times, my street has been one street north of his. That is a true story.

Today... leak and gouda omelette; no more mixed berry muffins; and delicious chilled cucumber soup.

I haven't done this in a while. I was away last week swimming, on wierd boats, in corn mazes, running away from dead fish, and hanging out with teenage cows. Oh. I also came across some treasure, a NOVELIZATION of Charles in Charge the sitcom called "Charles in Charge Again a Novelization". What a week. Even with all the adventure I was still hoping that our flat tire couldn't be fixed and we'd have to spend an extra night in a seedy Napanee motel.. One week isn't enough. I guess if I really wanted to get out of working I could get myself knocked up and flee to Europe for three months.

But seriously we're really going to miss Heidi here at the Big MG she was a great half boss and complainer. I know it was rough to leave lady and I wish you alot of fun and baby kicks in France. You did good kid.

On another note can we all give a big hi and hello to Douglas or Doug to any one else but me. Doug's the new partner you've probably already seen him around here already. He kind of looks like Heidi but without the boobs.

I guess you want the specials

Bacon Brie and caramelized onion on a ciabatta bun $5
Portabello and cheddar omelette
Gazpacho
1 chocolate chip muffin

Last week someone told me about a recent discovery in the world of physics with regard to time travel... but I can't remember what it was and I can't remember who told me!! It was either proven that it is theoretically possible to travel back in time but not forward, or forward in time but not backward. Two very different scenarios, with very different implications, so obviously I would like to remember which one is right. But I can't even remember who told me.

Today our omelette is mushroom and goat cheese; muffins are banana; soup is gazpacho.

Leek and cheddar omelette,
Mixed berry muffins,
Cantaloupe-mint soup.

Today's trivia question: What is the optimum temperature for a honeydew melon? Yesterday James found a metal detector, which would have been the prize for correctly answering today's trivia question if he hadn't given it away to a couple of kids.

I will tell you some news about me now. 1) I found a beautiful new apartment on Monday evening. It is really very beautiful and I am very excited about it. 2) Today I registered in courses for school. Here is what I am taking: East Central European History, Russian History, Czech, Latin, a course about Prague, and a course about film in the Soviet Bloc.

Tonight is my night to go out, because I have no work tomorrow, but I am worried that I will not make it out. Because I have not been sleeping a lot. And when it comes down to it tonight, I might choose sleep over fun. I hope not. Sleep is, of course, fun too. But it is not the same kind of fun. I can't remember why I haven't been sleeping. I think that mostly I have just been forgetting to go to bed early, and going to bed late instead.

Today we have blueberry pancakes, five dollars.
Omelette is broccoli, chives and cheddar.
Soup is gazpacho.
Blueberry muffins.

Morning.
Asparagus cheddar omelette.
Chocolate chip muffins.
Gazpacho.
Bacon, brie and caramelized onion on a bun for five dollars.
Side of garlic sausage, 2.50.
I bet when you read these blogs you think that they just come smoothly out of my head. I bet no one thinks about the fact that sometimes I have to stand here staring around for five or fifteen minutes trying to think of something to tell you.

An early blog day, as the people have not yet arrived.
Today our omelette is tomato and pesto; muffins are mixed berry; and soup is gazpacho.
I can't tell you about Eric and his Bonbon; that will be coming up tomorrow.
Today I will tell you about the movie The Warriors, which James lent to me last week because I was talking about how much I wanted to see it. It is a movie from 1979 about gangs in New York City. It starts off with a meeting of about 100 of the most powerful gangs at a park in the Bronx in the middle of the night, because the leader of the most powerful gang of all wants to talk to them about taking over the city. Then the leader gets shot, and the Warriors are wrongfully blamed, and the rest of the movie is about their dangerous and suspenseful journey home to Coney Island, basically trying not to get killed as they pass through other gangs' turfs. The best part about the movie is that all of the gangs have themes and dress the same. The Warriors just wear matching red vests with no shirts underneath, which is not very exciting, but there is a baseball gang in which all the members wear baseball uniforms and facepaint and swing bats around, and there is a mime gang, which is my favourite. Obviously you should watch this movie.
See you later,
Kelly
