Pesto and tomato omelette.
Chilled country garden tomato soup.
Banana muffins.
And don't forget about our new sandwich menu.

Also don't forget that we will be closed this weekend, on the Saturday and Sunday (but open Monday), as is our habit on holiday weekends.

What are you doing for the weekend? I might go to my cottage. Or I might go to Montreal. Or I might just stay here, which is looking like the most likely thing since I have not yet been able to get either other option organized. But I have decided that if I stay here, then I will have the best weekend ever. I feel really due for some extreme fun. The summer has been quite fun so far, but not a whole lot of Super Fun has happened yet. Really just a lot of moderate fun. This weekend I will try to make it extra fun.
See you soon,
Kelly

Morning.
My bike got fixed the other day. It was really falling to pieces; it had started to do things like swerve back and forth of its own accord while I was riding down busy streets, so it was time to take it in. But now it is all shiny and greased up, and I have been getting bicycle grease on all of my new clothes. Actually, I was getting bicycle grease all over my clothes before I took it in too. It has very little to do with getting the bike fixed, except that now I am getting MORE bicycle grease on my clothes. It is because I have been using the new bike racks on the front of the Bathurst bus, so I am always lifting my bike up and down. I think I need to start wearing coveralls or a similar protective garment. You will start to notice stains in the pattern of bicycle chains across my clothes.

Today we have a sauteed leek and apple smoked cheddar omelette.
Muffins are mixed berry.
Soup is "Chilled Country Garden Tomato".
And we have garlic sausage patties.

It's my birthday this week and this is my friday and it's finally raining and I'm going to the Ontario Place water park tommorow and I have five days off after today because we're closed for the long weekend and I get payed today so I can stock up on liquor before the potential strike. To make a long story short I'm in a good one, mood that is so come and get it while it's fresh. Unless your name is Fernando and you want to tell me that you thought I was older than 25, which is what I'm turning on Friday. You know what. I think the difference between twenty five and every thing before is that before I was flattered when people thought I was older because I thought it meant I was mature and wise and I always wished that I would not get carded at bars or the Liquor store and NOW I desperatly want to get carded and NOW when someone tells me they thought I was older I feel like I look haggard. This changed over the course of only one year. That's dumb. Fernando get your ass over here and tell me you thought I was older than 25 and I'll think it's because I'm a prodigy this time. And you know what. Haggard shmaggard. Our good mood specials on a blue tuesday are as follows:

Blueberry pancakes $5 and muffins $2

Sauteed leek and apple smoked cheddar omelette

Tomato and chilpotle soup (we haven't decided if it's cold or hot yet)

Chocolate walnut brownies $2.50

Here we go, early blog. I'm not going to correcct any spelling mistakes because it's early. I won't force any either. they usually happen on their own. Well how's it going. I'm fine. I'm fine now that I've discovered Toronto's public pools. I got a cough from one the other day but it does the trick if you don't have AC. It also save me from going out and drinking beer. Screw the 12 steps, just go swimming.

Bacon brie and caramelized onion on a ciabatta bun $5

Just a plain old tomato and cheddar omelette today folks James was to sleepy to think this morn

He did bake up some BANANA chocolate chip muffins though

Sid of mixed herb sausage patty $2.50

Chilled red pepper and white bean soup

Homemade pesto omelette; banana muffins; gazpacho; muffaletta sandwich (salami, ham, provolone, roasted red pepper and olives on a toasted ciabatta bun) for six dollars.

Is anyone else aware of the fashion gold mine that is Honest Ed's? You wouldn't think it, I know. But take a walk inside, through the ladieswear section. It is practically bursting with fashion items. It seems that very few items, in fact, are not in fashion. "Fashion socks", "fashion blouses", "fashion scarves", "fashion sandals".... and the list goes on and on. Pure disbelief. Who knew?
Sorry that the blog is so late today. Busy, busy Friday morning.

Today's omelette is roasted red pepper, feta and olives.
The soup is gazpacho.
And the muffins are mixed berry, but there is only one left. (But if you really want it, don't resign yourself. Someone has to be the one to get it and it could be you).
Okay, that's all. My creative faculties are malfunctioning. Just one of those days. I guess everyone has to have an off day, right?
See you later,
Kelly

I've been going to see alot of movies lately because I don't have air conditioning. I was drinking way to much beer out at bars. I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night, didn't like it much but I could sit through it because I love the story. My favorite line is when Mike T.V says " This factory's stupid, nothing in it makes sense." and Charlie earnestly comes back with "It's candy, it doesn't have to make sense." I love it. I just rememberd the book and all the futuristic crap, dumb jokes, bad Umpa Lumpa songs and the wierd Jonny Depp didn't really matter. I know, I know, SENTIMENTAL. But I can't help it. I read Le Petit Prince once a year. Any way, synicism and sarcasm are overrated.

The blueberry muffins are all gone.
We still have caramelized onion and brie omelette and gazpacho.
Tomorrow I am going to Chicago.
These are the games and things to do that we have thought of so far for the car:
Cat's Cradle
Quizzes from teen magazines
Make our own teen magazine-style quizzes
The game where you say a city name/whatever and then the next person has to say one starting with the last letter of the previous one.
Eat popsicles.
I don't know if that is enough for 8-10 hours x2. But those quizzes can be pretty fun.
Have a nice weekend!

Tuesday, July 12, 2005

So I went out for A beer last night because I really needed ONE after work and errands and such. ONE beer and some guacamole sounded very nice. THREE pints later with hardly any supper and I wasn't speaking propperly and paying way to much attention to the one eared chihuahua and the stray cat, who didn't like the drunken love, I have the bite mark to prove it. What I really want to know is who stole my tollerance and how much do they want for it, I do believe it's my most prized possesion. My eyes are a little sleepy and my arms are a little droopy but I 'm here to give you these:

Spinach and cheddar omelette

Blueberry muffins

Sausage patty on a bun $5

Gazpacho

Side of sausage patty $2.50

The pancakes took off somewhere but don't worry, they said they'd be back next Tuesday with a new wardrobe.

I think that's it.

Pork and mixed herb sausage patty $2.50

Friday, July 08, 2005

Morning.
Today our omelette is tomato, fresh chives, and gouda.
Soup is mushroom vegetable.
And muffins are spiced zucchini.
Also... today is the premiere of our new summer menu, featuring several exciting new sandwiches.

Next weekend I am going to Chicago. I have never been to Chicago before, so I am a little bit excited to see it. It is a place that I have been wanting to see for a while. Also, I am going to see lots and lots of wonderful bands at a big wonderful festival of music, and I am quite excited about that. I hope that the trip is successful, because we are going there in The Emerald of the Sea, which is a very old green minivan that has not attempted such a long and strenuous trip in a very long time. If the Emerald cannot make it, it will be a real adventure. Hopefully it will be an adventure anyways. But not in the car-breaking-down way. More in the straightforward exciting and fun way. We shall see. Luckily I don't have to work the day after we are supposed to get back. Or the next.
Bye,
Kelly

Thursday, July 07, 2005

I just had five days off too. Wow. I feel like I just keep mirroring all of Kristan's blogs. How boring. Or - maybe Kristan keeps mirroring my future. Spooky. Five days off is sort of a long time. I was going to invent something, with all of that free time on my hands. A time machine, I thought. If I had a time machine, it would be so much fun. I would always hang out in the past. I think that it would be especially fun to go on dates to the past and to go shopping in the past. It would be kind of like when you go away on a trip somewhere and buy beautiful clothes that you can't get here in Canada, only way better. And a lot cheaper, because of inflation. But I didn't invent the time machine. Not yet. James and I were talking about it, and he was saying, what if you invented a time machine that could travel through time but couldn't move through geographic space. So you could go back in time, to any time you wanted, but you would always end up in the location of, say, your present-day living room. Or wherever you had your time machine. Bo-ring. So I have to take a bit more time to plan it.

Today our omelette is sauteed yellow and red pepper and cheddar.
Muffins are mixed berry.
And mushroom soup.

Sorry for the lateness of today's blog.
