No imagination today. So you'll have to imagine what the blogg would say if there was one. It's a game to stretch your little heads on this, the last Monday in February. It's getting closer to being over, Monday and winter. Imagine it is over. Imagine you're on a patio enjoying our specials with the sun blazing down and a beer in your hand. You would have to be at a different restaurant though. We don't have a liquor license and we only have a tiny table out back. If you shared your scrumptious food with the server I don't think they'd mind. Heck, we're just imagining after all.

Monday Classic: Bacon brie and caramelized onion on a chiabatta bun $5

Baby spinach and cheddar omelette

Only 2 chocolate chip muffins left. They looked so darn good that both James and I had to have them for breaky. Sorry.

Veggie soup.

I think that's it. . . I was right.

Yes, I was a forgetful waitress yesterday (thank you for pointing that out to me...you know who you are...Derek!). I forgot to blog but I'll have you know that I was very busy in the morning. I was busy sipping my morning tea and doing the jumble. Then I was having a lovely chit chat with some of my customers and before I knew it it was 1:00 and really what is the point when you only have 2 hours left. So please accept my apologies. I will try and get my act together!

So Derek, you will be happy to know that we have James's lovely vegetarian chili served with some bread for $6.00.

The omelette is sauteed leek and havarti.

We have 1 banana muffin left so if you want it you better hurry over!!!!!

The soup today is broccoli which is very good for you. Don't forget to eat your broccoli folks, you know what mother always said!

I just received a fresh batch of Hildy's brownies (and they are the original recipe, not the @#$&* awesome ones that you like Hilary.).

That is all for today. This blog is cutting into my valuable jumble time so I really must go!

Thinking of August. Don't remember what it's like to wear only one layer of clothing. Can't understand why it's not happening yet. Don't even want to write in this weather any more. Cranky. But I'll be nice to you guys.

We have peach pancakes $5

Asparagus and cheddar omelette

Blueberry muffins

Really yummy sweet potato and leek soup

I was trying to think of what to write today, I will not write about the snow or the fact that I had convinced myself that winter was over and refused to wear boots today, and then Heidi's sceambled egg boiled up a huge tumour which reminded me of something. For those of you who have seen kindergarden cop, back in the days when Arnold was innocent and didn't use f#*@!ed up terms like "Economic girly men!" (run on sentence side note: I wish we could go back to the days where another voice was dubbed in for his), you'll know this tidbit. Do you remember when Arnold coined the phrase "It's not a tumour"? Well, my mom still uses that joke whenever I have a headache and adds to it. On that note, let's all lift our coffee mugs to mom jokes that last decades and get old to every one else except mom but we love them all the more for it. Come in and tell us your favourite mom joke and we'll give you food, not for free though. What do you think this is?

Bacon, brie and caramelized onion on a chiabatta bun $5

Asparagus and cheddar omelette

Chocolate chip muffin

Broccoli soup

Homemade chocolate walnut brownies $2.50
Honey marble coffee cake $3.00

I think that's it. See ya. Don't worry mom. I love you and I know it's in store for me too.

I don't know about you but I sure have been feeling the February blahs. I had a little music therapy last night at Lee's Palace and I'm going to share a little bit of it with you. I saw the Kings of Convenience and I think I have a new crush! They are so very charming even Erland with his fighting a cold. Those Norwegians sure are cute! I think I will be taking a trip to Norway in the near future!!!!!!! You've probably heard me play them here if you happen to come in first thing in the morning. So I suggest that you check out http://www.video-c.co.uk/microsite.asp?vidref=king001 for a little pick me up!

So while you are watching that cute little number you can think about the delicious food we are serving up today!

We have a sauteed green pepper and feta omelette.

Banana muffins.

Tomato and corn soup.

And a Morning Glory Rueben on some yummy rye bread with soup or salad for $7.00.

So you have to let me know what you think if you come into the restaurant. Renee, you will be happy to know that Eirik announced to the audience that he thinks Leslie Feist is the best female singer in the WHOLE world!

So blah, blah, blah lets try and beat those February blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day of love Or for the traditionalists Valentine's Day. But, quite frankly, I have no idea what St. Valentine did. I do know about the love thing though. . . Hold up for one second, we're going to take a bit of a detour here. I, just this second, looked into the whole St. Valentine thig because there is no excuse to be 24 and ignorant; I'm glad I did. The results turned out to be pretty funny. Mr. Valentine has no association with the rituals of this day whatsoever. It all has to do with dirty bid sex. That's right, birds usually begin to mate around the middle of February so they picked a day that humans could emulate their feathered friends on and poor old St. Valentine just got caught up in the hoopla. People in the middle ages would actually write about these birds in love letters saying things like (I've paraphrased): Hey cousin (it was a long time ago) it's Valentine's Day on Monday and that's when birds do it so maybe you could come by on thursday and we could make arrangements to get married. Literally. I mean I know I goofed it up a bit, but come on it was asking for it. In conclusion, if you write a love letter or a Valentine today please mention birds and remember where the romance originated.

We have our regular Monday special today Bacon, brie and caramelized onion on chiabatta. Today, however, it is called the LOVEWICH.

Our omelette of the day is pear, spinach and brie, a favorite of all our feathered friends out there.

Chocolate chip muffins.

Potato leek soup.

And a tasty treat of banana bread.

Birds do it. Bees do it. Even eduacated fleas do it. So let's capitalize on it and bring ourselves down to their level.

Just the waitress who enjoys love but has a problem with people celebrating bird sex.

I can't stop yawning. I think I had too much sleep last night. I wish I had some chocolate. Wait! We have a tub of ganache downstairs! How exiting!

Had a cappuccino the other day and was buzzed for 2 days! How's that possible you ask? Well, I very rarely drink any coffee so when I do.... watch out! Maybe I'm yawning so much because I'm finally coming down from the caffeine buzz!

So the omelette (yawn) today is spinach and cheddar (yawn).

We (yawn) have (yawn) ban(yawn)ana muffins (yawn).

Mushroom and (yawn) bean soup.

The super delicious (yawn) chicken curry club (yawn) with soup or salad for $8.00.

Now please (yawn) excuse me. I'm off to (yawn) eat some chocolate ganache by the (yawn) spoonful whilst sipping a double long espresso!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully (yawn) that should stop the ya(yawn)wning!

Rain rain go away come again another day. Perhaps in April when you're supposed to happen. Roght now you're just a tease, unless this is spring. Is it bad of me to hope that global warming kicks in for this year and then goes away? All I want is one extra long summer. I know I know the whole "fate of the world" thing. I know I know selfishness is how we got ourselves in to this mess in the first place. But I can't deal with the back and forth. It's driving me batty. I NEED WARM WEATHER! Sorry about that. I don't quite know what happened there. I assure all of you hat I will be completely balanced if you come in. Bring sun lamps if you want better service.

Raspberry pancakes $5

Mushroom and cheddar omelette

Blueberry muffins

Potato dill soup

I'm sorry about all this.

Blah blah blah blah blah blogg. Blah blah blah blah blah blah Monday. Blah blah blah blah blah blah breakfast. Blah blah blah blah blah blah cow manure. What? Cow manure and breakfast on the same page? Yup, that's right. Here's why: When I got off the bus this morning the air had a lovely tinge of cow manure in it. So I'm thinking, if it's still stinking out there, get in here where the air smells like everything good. I'm not saying that cow manure is bad, it's very good for the soil and much better than any grow chemicals but it's not so great in the air or on your breakfast. I should shut up. With the way I'm blah blah blahing none of you folks are going to want to mosey on in here and put any of the following grub in your tummies.

Bacon brie and caramelized onion on a chiabatta bun for $5

Mushroom and cheddar omelette

Chocolate chip muffins

Potata (no I didn't spell it wrong by accident I just felt like adding some flare to the soup today. Not like it needs it.) dill soup

We still have homemade cranberry chocolate coffee cake.

Blah blah blah

I don't like Tuesdays when they feel like Mondays. (I had the day off yesterday so I'm all out of whack.)
This past weekend we said goodbye to two of our faithful patrons. James and Danielle, they will be heading out to Kelowna at the end of the week. If you've ever seen James eat you would think that he had a hollow leg. He likes our MG food. I hope you guys can find a decent substitute in your new community. Have a safe journey to B.C. We will miss you!

The omelette is zucchini, scallions and parmesan cheese.

Yummy mixed berry muffins.

Sweet potato soup.
