omelet is caramelized onion and gruyere
the muffins are, wait for it...banana and mango! I know it doesn't sound like muffin material but Martina used mango before and it worked so why not add some banana.
the soup is roasted red pepper.
The sandwich special is a club with a cup of soup for $7.50 and if my new sherpa gets here at a reasonable time this morning I'm gonna make coleslaw.
If you liked the Jim Davison but don't see it on the special board, just ask for it.
Thanks Billy for fixing the problems we were having with the blog and putting a photo page on the web site.
The sky looks ominous.

let's hope this is working now
oh good, it is.

It's Friday morning and I'm sitting here with Jill and Doug, talking about the good old days working in television. Thank God that's all behind me now. If I'm gonna work sixty to seventy hours a week for next to no pay it may as well be in my own place surrounded by the things I love, fresh roasted coffee, fresh bread, eggs, the chatter of people and the Beatles on the stereo. And butter, lot's and lot's of butter! Good lord I love butter.
Omelet today, sauteed leek and havarti.
Muffin today, banana walnut.
Soup today, parsnip and sorrel.
Special today, sloppy rajahs. Boneless chicken and chickpea curry lovingly piled onto a toasted ciabatta bun and topped with red onion and served with tomato salad.
Sad and unemployed Doug will be here all day looking for company and signing autographs
I was having trouble posting the blog yesterday so I'm reprinting it so you can see what you could've had.
It's Thursday and the omelet I am happy to say is Ontario grown asparagus with Canadian cheddar.
Heidi and I were at the food terminal yesterday and the home grown produce is starting to come in. Heidi also got some hanging baskets with purple petunias for out back on the "patio", and I got some asian mangos that will take a few days to ripen. Asian mango are a lot sweeter that South-American ones and not as fibrous.
The soup today is turnip and sorrel.
Saw Martina yesterday and man is she pregnant. Martina and the nephew (that's right, it's a boy) are doing fine and as far as we know Anthony is too.
The muffins are spiced pear. I think I'm getting better at this baking thing but I will not rest in my research until I feel ready to claim that Morning Glory has the best muffins east of Parliament. My wooden spoon shall not rest in my hand!
Last but not least is a tuna pasta Nicoise salad today (and perhaps tomorrow). Tuna on a bed of rotini with boiled egg, potato, green beans, olives and a mustard dressing topped with asiago and fresh chives. F**king scrumptious!
Heidi asks that any ideas for upbeat CDs to play here would be greatly appreciated. We are a little sick of the ones we've had all winter so if you have any suggestions please email us at info@morningglory.ca.
Thanks Tommo but I know you're gonna suggest The Darkness and Bill Withers but no thanks.

I would like to apologize for my grammatically incorrect rambling yesterday. I shall keep it short today.
The soup is carrot-ginger.
The omelet is caramelized onion and Asia go cheese.
The muffins are banana chocolate.
The Jim Davison is the sandwich.
Caesar is the salad.
bye

CCongratulations, it's a boy!
We would like to say welcome to world, Paul Robert Bosso. Well done Jessica and John! We know how excited you were to be having a baby and now the day has come. Paul was born on May 7th in the early morning because the world needs another Taurus(right Heidi?)
The special today is the Jim Davison, named after my granddad who, lives in Aurora with my grandma, Doris. The sandwich is crispy bacon, apple and cheese on tasted white bread with some butter and Dijon mustard It was my granddad that I learned the love of food and making to most of what was at hand in the kitchen. I spent many a teatime at my apartment trying the latest soup concoction. Most were delicious, some like the multi-bean stew I'd rather forget. We were always going to restaurants were you could get the most food and the best food for the best price, and I will always cherish the memory of early mornings at the cottage making fried toast in a cast iron pan on the wood stove.
The soup is tomato-mushroom.
The muffins are blueberry.
The omelet is pear, gruyere and fresh chive.
The lone table and two chairs are out back, waiting for somebody to sit down. Its very hot and sunny behind MG but there is a lovely breeze coming off the lake and up Gilead Pl.

The weather is finally on our side, so we can’t fail now! Victory is assured.
The soup is chunky vegetable.
The omelet is sautéed mushrooms, onions and goat cheese.
The muffins are spiced pear and although they are still not as good as Martina’s I’m getting there. I think.
It’s Tuesday, which means two things, pancakes today and a day off tomorrow!
I want to say thanks to Ian at Cactus for the great new menus and Bobby at the printers for the great deal on printing. Thanks to Doug for helping run around for us for a couple of days.
Martina is doing great but has been told to stay off her feet until the baby comes.
Hey does anyone remember Tommo’s love life as a topic of this page?

We have a 3 cheese and arugala omelette.
The soup today is bean.
The muffins are chocolate chip. I just had one and it tastes like Chips Ahoy back in the good old day before they shrank in size.
In case you haven't heard, we won the World Hockey Championships! Yay! Canada! 2 years in a row! How do you like that Jiri!!!!
Hey Tommo, you know I love you! You're the little brother I never had so of course I'm going to abuse you!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Mom!

You lucky people, it's Friday!!!!!!! Any big plans? Well if you are looking for something to do, you can always cover my shifts this weekend! Any takers?
The omelette today is baby spinach, red onion and havarti.
The soup remains the same.
The muffins are blueberry.
The Corktown neighborhood is having a yard sale this Saturday but I wouldn't advise you buying your Mother's day gift there. Buy Mom something nice, like...let's say....brunch at Morning Glory!!
See you on the weekend!

Good Morning!
I think this is probably the earliest that we have posted the blog (are you satisfied now Tommo!).
Thank you Zoe and Cohen for singing Happy Birthday to me on my answering machine. You did a fabulous job! It brought tears to my eyes. I miss you too! I can't believe that you know your abc's. You're such a big girl now Zoe. I probably won't recognize you when I see you on the 7th. Thanks Andy and Geoff for my birthday wishes all the way from Calgary! See you in June.
Can't forget to shout out to my peeps in Winnipeg! (that sounds funny and people actually talk like that!) Thanks for my birthday wishes Tante Goodie and Angie!
Now I'll get down to business.
The omelette is zucchini, onion and asiago.
We have banana muffins.
The soup is Jamaican pumpkin.
We have our lovely ceasar salad back on. Don't ask me how much it costs, I just work here!!!
Happy belated birthday Ian. Dinner last night was yummy. Speaking of celebrations, don't forget that Sunday is Mother's day and Renee's birthday. So you better hurry up if you haven't gotten them presents yet! By the way, I'll be accepting presents for my birthday up to the 15th of May! I told you I get funnier with age!!!!!

Well it’s Tuesday and that means the end of another work week at Morning Glory. Heidi turned 32 and the Leafs gave us a near heart attack. Speaking of hearts, it’s spring and love seams to be blossoming along Gilead Pl.
Speaking of the Leafs, the trees are budding and the patio table and chairs are out. Why the hell is it f**king –2C out there!!!!!?????
The muffins are strawberry and as of 11AM there is only one left. (I baked this batch so bear with me as I learn to bake, pity one can’t fry muffins)
The omelet is pear, chive and gruyere.
The soup…remains the same.
Heidi got her photos back of her European excursion and will gladly show them to any who ask, or don’t ask.
Heidi says I’m a jerk. Toria says I’m not a jerk all the time because sometimes I’m sleeping.

Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday dear meeeeeeeeeee!
Happy birthday to me!!!!!!!!
So far the day has been going very well. Thank you for asking! I started the morning off with a present waiting for me from James. Guess what I got? A digital camera! Yes folks I have reached the digital age! Did I tell you that I got some of my photos back from Europe. They are the ones that I took with my very low tech lomo. You should see them some time. The ladies from MIMA came in and sang Happy Birthday! So I guess I just have to wait and see what else will happen.
So I guess you would like to hear about today's specials. What would you do if I told you that in celebration of my birthday we decided to take it easy today and not do any! Kidding! I just get funnier as the years go by! Anywho! The omelette is asparagus and cheddar. The soup is tomato and herb and we have one zucchini and walnut muffin left.
Alex brought in some cambozola cheese for James to try and yes Andy(who recommended it first) it is a very good cheese. I had some on bread with sliced granny smith. Very tasty indeed. Thanks for the tip our "blue cheese consultant"!
In other news: Canada plays against the Czech Republic today at the World Hockey Championship in my favorite city Praha. Hopefully they will do much better than the Leafs!
So I guess I should say good bye and enjoy the nice weather because it is my birthday and I always have a sunny birthday! Thanks mother nature! You sure know how to treat a gal!!!!!
