There are some very exciting things afoot at our little King street cafe today. Ian at Cactus designed some awesome postcards for us and I picked them up from the printer on Thursday. It was some time Friday afternoon when Keith at Upcountry called to tell us that we had relocated our address to the west side of town. Bugger! Heidi and Doug have volunteered to spend eight hours or more correcting all five thousand flyers(I am to supply special nourishment).
Remember Tommo, Doug is the driving force.
The bacon, brie and caramelized onion butty is back, and it's become a Monday classic and for five bucks, why the hell not? Hmmn, why not? Hell. Hang on...I need a cup of coffee.
Ok, that's better. The omelet is fresh chive from Heidi's little herb garden out back and Danish havarti(did you know in Denmark they have an entire city made out of Lego? They do, and that's where the prince of Denmark lives and aye there's the rub). Enjoy what is left of the herb garden now 'cos everything out there is dying fast. Death is in the air this time of year and soon we shall reap only bitter herbs...and snow.
I have some lovely bartlett pears that Rosie who owns Quince gave me. I'm using those and mangos as the side of fruit for the granola and yogurt or french toast.
The soup is vegetable and dill. God it smellls good, like summers last gasp.
The muffins are banana and fruit fly. Just kidding, they're all dead now too. I saw a wasp stagger across the window on the back door yesterday all cold and drained of energy, I killed him with the corner of a napkin. Looked him right in the eye first too, the f**ker!
Well that's about it, we have a fresh batch of Hildy's walnut brownies and our coffee is the best this side of Parliament. Take a hint.
